Peschiera del Garda

The splendid town has the particularity of having been built between Lake Garda and the River Mincio. The historic centre is enclosed by the walls of the fortress, an imposing defensive construction, built between the era of the Scaligeri, Visconti and Venetian dominations, and still retains its particular star shape. Inside some military buildings, the infantry barracks, the officiers’ pavillon, the command building the powder magazine have been built. From July 2017 it became part of the Unesco heritage, remembered above all as a Venetian defense. In the historic centre you can also visit the parish church of St. Martino and the Roman remains.
